Working length: 400mm
Shank: Scotch eyed
A scotch eyed auger drill bit is used to bore holes in timber for hand
operation where there is no electrical power. It is great for drilling
holes in thatch poles to insert threaded rods.
A branch or dowel is inserted in the eye of the auger to become the handle to
turn the auger drill bit by hand. The handle is not supplied.
The pilot guide is threaded to ‘pull’ the drill bit into the wood. The
cutting edge forms part of the auger helix to assist the drill bit with the
removal of shavings.
